Twin Day Bed (#7)

I built this twin-sized day bed frame out of construction lumber. The main requirement of the bed was to be solid and support a kid jumping on it. I designed it so that it can be moved easily by unbolting eight bolts, two per corner. I slightly angled the head and footboard so a person can sit and read with a comfortable posture, and the gap between the angled panel and the mattress allows for tall people to sleep comfortably. This bed is rock solid, as it's about 2x thicker in every dimension than other bed frames you might find at a store. I used pine 1x6 slats, 7 total, and connected them with some nylon webbing to ensure they remain spaced properly. I finished them with a 240-grit sanding and a very light colored oil stain, which allows the beauty of the wood to show through even if it isn't considered high-quality material. The bed is on the taller side so that storage boxes can be placed below.

(I apologize that the photos aren't particularly beautiful this time.)
